  • What is GCMS?

    The Global Case Management System (GCMS) is Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC’s) single, integrated and worldwide system used internally to process applications for citizenship and immigration services.
  • What all is included in the notes?

    The GCMS notes capture the entire immigration file from the IRCC computer systems. The report has valuable information on the current status and notes from the officers reviewing your file for.
  • How long does it take to get the notes?

    Under the Access to Information and Privacy Act, IRCC has to respond to a request for GCMS notes within 30 days. However, 40 days is the average processing time after taking into consideration the workload on different offices and the number of pending requests. In some cases, IRCC may seek extensions under the statute. If we receive an extension notice, we will promptly inform you of the same.
  • When are the GCMS notes generated after I place an order?

    The GCMS notes can be retrieved at anytime from the date the request is made to the date the notes are released. Usually, in most cases the notes are generated within a week after the request is made.
  • Can I expedite the processing for GCMS notes?

  • Does ordering GCMS notes delay the file processing?

  • Can I contact a lawyer if my visa application is taking too long to be processed?

    Yes, and we encourage you to contact a lawyer where your file processing times have exceeded the average processing times. However, before your contact a lawyer, make sure you have your GCMS notes so that the lawyer can review the current status of your file.
  • Apart from knowing the status, how else will the GCMS notes help me?

  • How many days does CBSA / CSIS Notes take?

    Since CBSA and CSIS only communicate via postal mail, it takes an average of 40 days after the request is filed to receive the information, unless an extension is sought by the agency.
  • What is the difference between CBSA and CSIS notes?

    CBSA uses the same GCMS (Global Case Management System) Platform, so the GCMS notes and CBSA notes look very similar, with the exception, that in most CBSA notes the security details are not retracted. The CBSA notes also contain all the information available about your file with CBSA. The CSIS notes disclose when your file was received, and the processing was completed, along with all the information CSIS has pertaining to your file.
  • Which notes should I request, CBSA or CSIS?

    While it is a matter of personal preference, it will depend on your circumstances. Most applicants request both, CBSA and CSIS.
  • I made the payment, but nothing happened after that.

    If your payment was successful, a payment receipt is sent to your email. Upon successful payment, the site should have directed you to the information page to collect your information. If you were not directed to the information page, please log into your GET GCMS account where you will have an option to fill the form under your order history. Please fill out the information form. Once the information form has been filled a pre-filled form will be available for you to download in your order history. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us and quote the payment id and we will guide you further.
  • I made the payment and filled the information form, but I have not yet received any email?

    After making the payment, if you successfully filled the information form and submitted it, you should receive an email with further instructions and a consent form within 10-25 minutes. If you still haven’t received the email, please check your spam / junk folder. If the email is not there, please contact us and we will guide you further.
  • My information on the consent form is incorrect, how do I change it?

    The information you enter in the information form after making the payment is used as is in the consent form. If you entered the information incorrectly, you will see the same information in the consent form too. If the information is incorrect, please contact us and let us know the correct information that should appear. We will guide you further and send you a revised form.
